A lot of the workouts I do at home are specifically designed to be done with no or minimal equipment, otherwise I might as well go to my Crossfit box and workout there with all their equipment. The point of home workouts for me are that they should be easily accessible to most people to be done at 'home' (or just outside their home / at their local park), especially for those times when you can't get to the gym/box, for whatever reason (worked late, it's a holiday etc. etc.).
I really enjoy doing workouts outside that require no or minimal equipment, as they feel so 'free', 'natural' and 'raw'! You do, however, need at least a few items to be able to get a good varied workout. With what I have at home, I can do maybe 80% of what can be done at a regular Crossfit gym, with just a touch of occasional modification to movements.
Items I own (see picture below):
Dumbbells (max 30kg each)
Kettlebell (24kg)
Foam matting (to protect my garage floor / lie on etc.)
Skipping rope / speed rope (not shown)
I found a cheap 10kg wall-ball that I wanted to purchase as well, but my wife was not keen on me throwing it against the side of our new house, so I decided not to.
I set up my home 'Garage Gym' for a total of around 30,000yen. All items were purchased off Amazon and delivered to my door! :)
