This place is fast becoming my wife's and my favourite date night place for delicious, healthy and inventive dishes, excellent vegetable selection, large portions and great alcohol deals! Veggie and booze lovers, rejoice!

Visit #1 (excuse the bad photos, these were from before I decided to do a blog and I was very excited on my first visit!)

Bagna Cauda course for 6+ ppl, 3980yen per person:

  • 2 types of kale salad

  • Huge Bagna Cauda (assortment of seasonal roasted veggies)

  • Loads of Daisen chicken

  • Gratins (can't remember contents, but it was delicious)

  • All you can drink for 2hrs (wine, beer etc. incl. bottles of organic wines and their delicious kale beer!)

I was blown away by the huge and delicious veggie selection on this first visit, as well as the abundance of alcohol for such a cheap price. Kale seems to be coming out of their ears, a veggie which Tokyoites know is hard to come by. On top of all that, their Daisen chicken was cooked beyond perfection, I have no idea how they make breast meat SO juicy and tender! The decor is very rustic and trendy too.

Visit #2

Hotpot (nabe) course, 5000yen per person:

  • Burrata cheese starter

  • Kale salad

  • Spicy kale & pork hotpot

  • Daisen chicken (half size?)

  • 2 vegetable side dishes

  • All you can drink for 2hrs (wine, beer etc. incl. their delicious kale beer!)

  • Free sweet potato ice-cream (post a picture on Instagram with the hashtag #wearethefarm_shibuya to claim)

Apologies, I forgot to get pictures of the kale salad and the vegetable side dishes. This time the stars of the show were the burrata cheese and the spicy kale and pork hotpot. The cheese was absolutely delicious (loved the two sauces with it - a tomato based and a pesto based sauce) and a decent portion too and the hotpot was HUGE, full of kale, pork, sweet potato and other goodies! My wife and I were pretty much stuffed come the end of the hotpot and we still had the chicken, vegetable side dishes and ice-cream to go (and that is saying something, coming from a self confessed glutton!) - Okay, okay, I know we didn't have to claim our free ice-cream at the end, but come on, it was FREE and I have just said I am a self confessed glutton! - The Daisen chicken was once again delicious as were the vegetable side dishes. The vanilla and sweet potato ice-cream was pleasant enough, but I was literally fit to burst by this point and actually entering the realms of pain from over eating!... And did I mention it was all you can drink too?! - Absolute bargain!

Visit #3:

A-la-carte, 7000yen per person:

  • Burrata cheese starter with baguette

  • Bagna Cauda

  • Daisen chicken (full size) w/veg on the side

  • Bottle of organic orange wine

  • Free sweet potato ice-cream (post a picture on Instagram with the hashtag #wearethefarm_shibuya to claim)

After our painful eating experience last time, the wife and I decided to go a-la-carte and choose only our most favourite dishes. We had the beautiful burrata cheese again, this time with some delicious fresh baked baguette, followed by their famous and voluminous bagna cauda and finished off with their unfathomably juicy Daisen chicken. Of course we got our free ice-cream again too! My wife loves orange wine and it is very difficult to find in Tokyo, so when we saw they had a bottle and for only 4200yen, we had to get it! Overall, it was a little pricier eating this way, but we got exactly what we wanted and still with a decent amount of alcohol. Technically it was not quite as good a deal as the previous two visits, but in my opinion, still worth it.... One thing worth noting is that we used an English menu (although we can read Japanese menus) and the chicken was more expensive than on the Japanese menu (you can see it listed as 'English menu chicken' on the receipt)! Looking around, we think it was slightly different, in that we got a few extra veggies on the plate, but we found this a little underhanded/sneaky on the restaurant's part and we didn't really need the extra veggies. Next time, I think we'll be ordering from the Japanese menu.
